Oh, sweet Roku... where have you been all my life? I think I'm in love with you!
We have had a Netflix subscription for years. About six months ago we made the great plunge and unplugged our lives from the basic cable that had been ruling us. We watched instant movies on Netflix using our computers and we watched the movies that came to us in the mail, and never knew there was any affordable viewing pleasure beyond that. Then one day, a co-worker mentioned to my husband that she was "getting one of those boxes from Netflix, they are only about $80." My husband came home and mentioned it to me and we almost dismissed it, we were sure that there was no way that the magic boxes that let you watch Netflix movies on your home TV could be that affordable. We decided to investigate. We researched it on the Netflix website and were surprised to discover that they cost less than $80 and had great reviews, plus a money back guarantee. For one of the first times in our lives, we didn't over-analyze the situation, we just ordered it without hesitation.
I am so glad we did. I can't even put into words how wonderful it is. I have been watching old black and white shows like Leave it to Beaver and Maverick along with new shows like 30 Rock and the kids have been watching Hannah Montana and Drake and Josh. There are also movies, movies and more movies. It is so nice to have that option to flip on the tv, via Roku. All for the one time additional cost of $80. Our Netflix subscription, while we must continue it to have Roku access, it doesn't cost us one red cent more than we were already spending.
My only issue with Roku is that we didn't know about it sooner. Roku is definitely my newest Favorite Thing!
